Aqara Wireless Mini Switch - Tiny single-button Zigbee controller with single, double and long press actions, fully local

Owner’s hands-on review ★★★★★

One of my most-used 'manual' switches

I normally prefer triggering controls off state changes, motion, and the like. But sometimes you just need a physical button, and this one is as good as any I’ve tried. It has worked every single time I press it, and that’s been daily for about nine months now, mostly to turn the living room lights off on my way to bed. They’ll shut off on their own if I forget, but I like killing them immediately.

Quick verdict

The Wireless Mini Switch is Aqara's tiny single-button Zigbee controller. It supports single, double and long press, so one button can trigger several actions. It pairs locally through zigbee2mqtt or ZHA with no Aqara hub required. A cheap, flexible way to add a physical control point anywhere in a Zigbee Home Assistant setup.

Standout: Tiny single-button Zigbee controller with single, double and long press actions, fully local.

Local control facts

Home Assistant: zha integration, Local Polling (home-assistant.io, checked Oct 10, 2026)
Zigbee2MQTT: supported device, listed as Aqara WXKG11LM (Wireless mini switch) (zigbee2mqtt.io, checked Oct 10, 2026)

Why it stands out

single-button Zigbee controller supporting single, double and long press actions
tiny and battery powered, easy to place anywhere
fully local via zigbee2mqtt or ZHA

Reasons to hesitate

requires a Zigbee coordinator (Aqara officially supports only their own hub, but ZHA/zigbee2mqtt work well)
single button only, so multiple actions rely on press patterns
Xiaomi/Aqara Zigbee devices can occasionally drop off non-Aqara meshes
Zigbee2MQTT notes that hold and release are not reported by every hardware revision of this switch

Best for

triggering scenes or toggling lights with single, double and long press
a cheap, placeable Zigbee button in a Home Assistant setup

Avoid if

you have no Zigbee coordinator
you want multiple physical buttons rather than press patterns

Privacy and local-control notes

Pure Zigbee button with no cloud component. Press events stay local when paired to a Zigbee coordinator via zigbee2mqtt or ZHA.

Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: zigbee2mqtt / ZHA.
