ThirdReality Zigbee night light with motion sensor
Owner’s hands-on review ★★★★☆

Hardwired motion sensor: great. Configurable night light: meh.

As a configurable night light, these have been a little flaky for me - tying the light to other conditions doesn’t always fire reliably. As hardwired motion sensors, though, they’ve been excellent: I use them in stairwells and bathrooms to switch lights on and off automatically, exactly the spots where a battery motion sensor is a hassle. About eight months in, I’ve had basically no drop-offs, and they report state changes quickly - dependable for motion-activated lighting.

Quick verdict

Three things in one outlet plug: a night light, a motion sensor, and a Zigbee repeater. Put these in hallways and bathrooms and you get automatic nighttime lighting, motion data for Home Assistant automations, and a stronger Zigbee mesh. Hard to argue with that at this price.

Standout: A Zigbee night light with built-in motion sensor that doubles as a mesh repeater.

Reasons to hesitate

  • takes up an outlet
  • motion sensor is a bonus, not a replacement for a dedicated sensor
  • requires a Zigbee coordinator
