SONOFF SNZB-06P Zigbee Occupancy Sensor — Budget mmWave presence detection over Zigbee — detects people sitting
Owner’s hands-on review ★★★★☆

Sometimes Slow, but for the price? Hard to beat.

I’ve got a few rooms in the house that don’t need any fancy features, just reliable presence detection to automate things/test conditions. This fits the bill. Sometimes there’s a 2-3 second delay in reporting presence, which in my experience only matters when you approach from the side, it picks up presence behind it for a few feet.

I’ve used a pair of them to effectively automate longer rooms pretty well.

Are there better options? Yes, absolutely. But at the price point I’ll likely get a couple more of these to automate a couple more things in the not too distant future.

Quick verdict

The SNZB-06P brings mmWave presence detection to the budget tier. Unlike PIR sensors that only catch movement, this detects stationary occupants — great for keeping lights on while you're reading or working. It's not as sophisticated as the Aqara FP2 (no zone configuration), but at this price, it's a fantastic entry point into true presence detection.

Standout: Budget mmWave presence detection over Zigbee — detects people sitting still, not just walking by.
