Discontinued. The manufacturer no longer sells this one new, so a retailer link here can land on remaining stock, a used or refurbished unit, or a successor model - check what the listing is before buying.

Newer version available. This model is succeeded by the Shelly 2PM Gen4 - worth a look before buying this one.

Shelly Plus 2PM - Two independent relay channels with per-channel power monitoring - control two loads from one device

Quick verdict

Shelly has discontinued the Plus 2PM. The Shelly 2PM Gen4 is the current version and the one Shelly's US store actually sells (the Gen3 is not carried there); at $39.99 it is also cheaper than the Plus 2PM was. The Plus 2PM packs two independently controlled relay channels with power monitoring into a single module. Perfect for controlling two light circuits, a fan and light combo, or motorized blinds. Full local API, native HA support, and no cloud dependency. You need to be handy with wiring, but the per-channel cost is hard to beat.

Standout: Two independent relay channels with per-channel power monitoring - control two loads from one device.

Why it stands out

  • two independent relay channels with per-channel power monitoring in a single compact module
  • full local control via HTTP API, MQTT, or native Home Assistant integration - no cloud needed
  • supports roller/shutter mode for motorized blinds and covers in addition to dual relay mode

Reasons to hesitate

  • requires in-wall wiring - not a beginner-friendly install
  • two channels sharing one module means a failure takes out both circuits
  • Wi-Fi only - adds to your wireless device count

Best for

  • Home Assistant users who want to control two circuits (lights, fans, etc.) from a single device
  • anyone automating roller shutters or motorized blinds with local control

Avoid if

  • you are not comfortable working with mains wiring
  • you need each circuit on an independent module for reliability

Privacy and local-control notes

Fully local via HTTP REST API or MQTT. Cloud account is entirely optional. Power monitoring data stays on your network.

Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: native / local.

Buying reality check

Price notes: Costs less than buying two separate single-channel relays, making it the most cost-effective way to automate two circuits.

What changed for this product

  1. · Added

Shelly 1 Gen4 and 2PM Gen4 now have product pages

The guides have named these two as the parts to buy since Shelly discontinued the Gen2 Plus line, but neither had a page, so the only clickable relay link in those sentences still went to the superseded Plus model. Both now have pages with dated sources: the Shelly 1 Gen4 (potential-free contacts, no metering, $27.99 for the UL-certified US SKU) and the Shelly 2PM Gen4 (two metered channels, 10 A each and 16 A total, $39.99 - less than the Plus 2PM cost). Each ships in a Matter-over-Wi-Fi profile and switches to Zigbee with five presses of the device button, one radio at a time. I have run neither, and both pages say so.

  2. · Superseded

Shelly has retired the Plus generation; Gen3 and Gen4 replace it

Shelly’s US store now marks the Plus 1, Plus 1 UL, Plus 2PM, Plus Plug US and the original Wall Display as discontinued, each with a named successor: the 1 Gen3 and 1 Gen4, the 2PM Gen3, the Plug US Gen4 and the Wall Display X1i. The product pages say so and link forward. Plus units you own keep working and keep their local API.
