Quick verdict
The Hue Smart Plug turns any dumb lamp or device into part of your Hue setup. It joins the Zigbee mesh as a router, which can help extend coverage to far corners of the house. The problem is the price. You get a basic on/off plug with no energy monitoring for more than what a Sonoff S31 or Zooz plug costs with full power metering. It makes sense if you are already deep in the Hue system and want everything on one mesh. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
