Meross MS600 Matter smart presence sensor, a small white wall-mounted sensor

Quick verdict

The MS600 is Meross's Matter over Wi-Fi presence sensor, combining 24 GHz mmWave and PIR with a light sensor. Over Matter it reports presence and light level, nothing more, and it needs constant USB-C power. I haven't run this one; the notes come from Meross's US store page, the CSA listing and Matter Survey data.

Standout: An inexpensive Matter presence sensor that pairs mmWave radar with PIR and a light sensor.

Local control facts

Why it stands out

  • combines 24 GHz mmWave radar with PIR, plus a built-in light sensor
  • Meross quotes detection up to 12 m, with presence detection effective up to 6 m
  • Matter over Wi-Fi, so no hub or Thread border router is needed

Reasons to hesitate

  • must stay plugged in: it runs from a 5 V USB-C adapter, with no battery option
  • over Matter only presence and light level are exposed, per Meross
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and Meross says it doesn't support enterprise Wi-Fi

Best for

  • room presence for lighting automations where a powered spot is available
  • Home Assistant users who want mmWave presence without Thread or Zigbee

Avoid if

  • you need a battery-powered sensor
  • you want zones or distance readings rather than a single presence state

Privacy and local-control notes
