Quick verdict
My Zigbee pick for air quality: Third Reality lists CO2 (400-5000 ppm), a VOC index, temperature and humidity from Sensirion sensors, on USB power with the adapter in the box, and Zigbee2MQTT exposes all four readings. I haven't run this one. Third Reality doesn't name the CO2 sensor part, there is no display or PM2.5, and I couldn't find anywhere that says it works with ZHA.
Standout: CO2, a VOC index, temperature and humidity in one USB-powered Zigbee sensor.

Why it stands out
CO2, VOC index, temperature and humidity in one Zigbee sensor
USB powered with the adapter included, so no batteries
Reporting interval adjustable from 30 to 300 seconds, per Third Reality, including from Home Assistant
Reasons to hesitate
Third Reality doesn't name the CO2 sensor part or how it measures
No display and no particulate (PM2.5) sensing
Zigbee2MQTT lists it; I couldn't find anywhere that says it works with ZHA (October 26, 2026)
Needs a Zigbee coordinator
Best for
Zigbee households that want a CO2 reading to drive ventilation automations
Avoid if
you need PM2.5 readings
you want a monitor with its own screen
Privacy and local-control notes
A Zigbee sensor that reports to your own coordinator. No cloud account is needed to read it in Home Assistant.
Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: Zigbee2MQTT (ZHA support not confirmed).
Buying reality check
Price notes: $39.99 and in stock at Third Reality's own store on October 26, 2026. The Amazon listing B0HBVLX9PZ was $49.99 the same day with a later delivery date rather than stock on hand, so preferDirect is set and the maker's store is the primary buy button.
One verified price read so far: $49.99 at amazon on Oct 26, 2026.

CO2, PM2.5 and VOC with no cloud account: AirGradient ONE overall, Apollo AIR-1 for ESPHome, IKEA ALPSTUGA for the money. What each one actually measures.
