Quick verdict

Mysa's central-HVAC model is the exception to everything this site says about Mysa. The other five models are Wi-Fi and cloud by default, with HomeKit Controller as the only local workaround; this one is Matter certified, so Home Assistant picks it up over the native Matter integration with real local control of setpoints, mode and temperature. Mysa's own support documentation scopes that carefully - Matter support is available for the Central HVAC model only - so check which Mysa you are buying. Note the naming: Mysa's store calls this simply the Mysa Smart Thermostat.

Standout: The only Matter-certified thermostat Mysa makes - it joins Home Assistant locally over Matter instead of through the Mysa cloud.

• Matter exposes the standard thermostat controls; Mysa's own scheduling and extras still run through the Mysa app

Best for

• central forced-air, heat pump or central AC systems where you want local Matter control
• Home Assistant users who want a Wi-Fi thermostat without a cloud integration

Avoid if

• you have electric baseboard, in-floor or mini-split heating - those are different Mysa models and none of them are Matter
• you have no C-wire and do not want to add the power adapter

Privacy and local-control notes

This is the one Mysa that does not need the Mysa cloud for Home Assistant. It joins over Matter on your LAN, so setpoints, mode and current temperature are local. The Mysa app, remote access and Mysa's own scheduling still use Mysa's servers if you choose to use them.
