Roku's open, well-documented ECP REST API lets Home Assistant control the player entirely over the LAN, making the integration exceptionally stable. The Roku integration speaks ECP directly to the device over HTTP on the local network, so control never leaves the LAN. Just note: App content and the Roku OS are cloud/ad-driven (privacy caveat on the OS).
