Roborock Qrevo MaxV — Mid-range Roborock vacuum-mop with dual spinning mops, auto mop lift
Owner’s hands-on review ★★★★★

Great Robot Vaccum + Matter? What's not to love

I have this automated to run when no one is home - and it’s fantastic. The suction is the best on the handful of robot vacuums I’ve tried and it’s been reliably connected to home assistant for 8+ months.

Quick verdict

The Qrevo MaxV hits the sweet spot between Roborock's premium performance and a more accessible price: dual spinning mops, auto mop lift, and a full self-maintaining dock. Home Assistant can control it locally over Matter for the basics (start, stop, return to dock) or through the Roborock integration's local-polling API; either way, maps and per-room or zone cleaning still go through the Roborock cloud. Obstacle avoidance isn't quite S8-MaxV-Ultra grade, but it has the same RGB-camera reactive system and cleans well day to day.

Standout: Mid-range Roborock vacuum-mop with dual spinning mops, auto mop lift, and a full-featured self-maintaining dock.

Why it stands out

  • excellent vacuum and mop performance at a lower price than the S8 MaxV Ultra
  • dual spinning mops with auto mop lifting for carpets
  • multifunctional dock with auto-empty, auto-wash, and hot air drying

Reasons to hesitate

  • maps and routines still need the Roborock cloud (Matter covers only basic local start/stop/return)
  • obstacle avoidance less advanced than the S8 MaxV Ultra
  • suction power slightly below the flagship S8 line

Best for

  • users who want Roborock quality vacuum-mop combo without flagship pricing
  • mixed-floor homes that need reliable mop lifting for carpets

Avoid if

  • you need the absolute best obstacle avoidance and suction power
  • you need full local control of maps and zone cleaning with no cloud — Matter covers only basic start/stop/return locally, while maps and routines still go through the Roborock cloud

Privacy and local-control notes

Requires the Roborock cloud for setup, maps, and routines. Basic control (start, stop, return to dock) can run locally over Matter or the Roborock integration's local-polling API. The MaxV has an RGB camera plus structured-light obstacle avoidance, which raises in-home privacy considerations.

Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: Matter (local basic vacuum control: start/stop/pause/return-to-base and status) or the Roborock integration (local-polling API for controls; cloud auth + maps/routines).

Buying reality check

Price notes: Significantly cheaper than the S8 MaxV Ultra while retaining most key features. One of the best values in robot vacuum-mops.
