Home Assistant can control it locally over Matter for the basics (start, stop, return to dock) or through the Roborock integration's local-polling API; either way, maps and per-room or zone cleaning still go through the Roborock cloud. Obstacle avoidance isn't quite S8-MaxV-Ultra grade, but it has the same RGB-camera reactive system and cleans well day to day.
