Quick verdict

The Lily is Hue's outdoor landscape spotlight. It stakes into the ground and throws a focused beam upward into trees, across garden beds, or onto walls. The low-voltage 24V system means you can bury the cables yourself without hiring an electrician. Color changes let you shift the look of your yard by season: warm white for everyday, orange for Halloween, red and green for December. The catch is cost. A proper landscape lighting setup needs 4 to 8 spots, and each one is expensive. Add the power supply and extension cables, and you are looking at a serious investment. Compare that to a basic low-voltage landscape kit from the hardware store at a fraction of the price. The Lily only makes sense if per-spot color control and smart home integration are things you will actually use.

Standout: IP65-rated outdoor color spotlight with low-voltage installation safe for DIY landscape projects.

Why it stands out

  • IP65 rated for full outdoor exposure including rain, snow, and sprinkler systems
  • low-voltage system (24V) is safe for DIY installation without an electrician
  • full 16 million colors for landscape accent lighting that can change with seasons or events

Reasons to hesitate

  • expensive, especially when you need multiple spots for a full landscape lighting design
  • low-voltage power supply and extension cables add to the total cost and installation complexity
  • Zigbee signal outdoors can be weaker, may need a Hue outdoor sensor or plug as a mesh extender

Best for

  • landscape lighting for trees, garden beds, architectural features, and pathways
  • holiday and seasonal color lighting outdoors without swapping fixtures

Avoid if

  • you just want functional white outdoor lighting. A basic low-voltage landscape kit is far cheaper
  • your outdoor area is far from the house and Zigbee signal may not reach without mesh planning

Privacy and local-control notes

Through the Hue Bridge, control is fully local. Outdoor Zigbee signal may require the Bridge to be close enough or a Zigbee router in between.

Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: native hue integration (via bridge) or zigbee2mqtt / ZHA.

Buying reality check

Price notes: The base kit includes the spotlight, power supply, and cable. Extension kits let you add more spots to one power supply. Plan the full layout before buying to get the right cable lengths.
