GE Profile 30in Smart Slide-In Induction Range (PHS930)

Quick verdict
As a range it is excellent - induction cooktop, convection, air fry. As a Home Assistant device it is poor by my local-first rubric: support runs entirely through GE's cloud, either GE's own SmartHQ custom integration (which exposes only basic toggles for ranges so far) or the community ha_gehome custom integration that covers oven state over GE's cloud websocket. Expect monitoring and timers rather than control, occasional breakage when GE changes its API, and nothing working offline.
Standout: A top-tier induction range whose Home Assistant paths (GE's own SmartHQ integration or the community ha_gehome) are all cloud based.

Why it stands out
The ha_gehome custom integration surfaces oven/cooktop state, timers, and remote alerts in Home Assistant
5.3 cu ft true convection oven with no-preheat air fry and a powerful induction cooktop (the appliance itself is excellent)
Works with Google and Alexa for voice status and basic control
Reasons to hesitate
Cloud-only: GE's own SmartHQ integration exposes only basic toggles for ranges so far, and the community ha_gehome that covers oven state can break when GE changes its API
Safety features mean you cannot freely start cooking remotely; control is mostly monitoring and timers
No local control and nothing works in Home Assistant during an internet outage
Best for
GE SmartHQ owners who want oven status, timers, and finished alerts in Home Assistant
Cooks who care about the induction range first and treat HA support as a bonus
Avoid if
You want a supported, official, or local Home Assistant integration
You depend on cooking automations surviving cloud or internet outages
Privacy and local-control notes
The SmartHQ integration is a community custom component that authenticates to GE's cloud and talks to the range over a cloud websocket. Account credentials are stored in Home Assistant; all state and any control passes through GE's servers.
Home Assistant support: supported · integration path: SmartHQ: GE Appliances' own HACS custom integration (geappliances-smarthq-integration, cloud OAuth and websocket; only basic toggles for ranges so far) or the community ha_gehome (GE's cloud websocket API) for oven state and timers.
